Feeling like a loser, going the wrong way,
Needing a little encouragement to get me through the day,
Lord, I try, to see it through your eyes,
But I fail time after time,
Still I carry on,I sing my song,On this journey home,I'm well aware that you are near,Never will you leave me alone,I carry on, on, on,I carry on,Someday the sky will split, and all will see,You assending on your throne,So I walk by faith and not by sight,Knowing this world is not my home,So though feelings may grasp me,Whatever they may be,Thy Word alone will be my lamp,For I'm safe abiding in Thee!cgb
I have learned, how that often in life we face feelings, feelings of negativity, feelings of positive influence, feelings of rejection even though we can't put a finger on who it is that we feel has rejected us, in fact sometimes no one has rejected us at all yet we feel rejected.
ReplyDeleteWe face depression which can lead us to what feels like an abyss that is slowly swallowing us up though we are in a crowd of loved ones and the sky is deep blue with the green of the trees against it.
Feelings have led pilots of aircraft's to crash their aircraft's into both sea and land when they turned to their feelings instead of trusting their gauges. Feelings are just that, FEELINGS. Feelings can make us bitter without a cause as if the wind blew by and a voice spoke from the wind and we became bitter.
I ponder a story, a sad yet a true story which I once heard and it rent my heart as I heard it, for I also in times past had been guilty of blaming some falsely because of feelings.
The story is of a father who I suspect was suffering from feeling forgotten maybe even rejected and or alone, however he was feeling all that I really do know is the end result of his feelings. You see it was Fathers day and no one had called or visited him to wish him a happy Fathers day. This dad had a son and a daughter who also had families of their own and though this dad knew it was Fathers day he chose not to call his children but instead waited, and waited, and waited for a call, for a letter, a card, a surprise visit from his children and their children yet no call, no letter, no card, and no visit came, only feelings of bitterness, animosity, and forgotten. So late in the evening this man decided to write a letter and share his feelings with those who would read the letter. He wrote my children have forgotten me and its Fathers day. He then sealed the letter as he went and took the life of those who loved him and also his own life. When the letter was read it also was discovered by the reader that in fact it was "NOT" Fathers day at all, only the Dad had misinterpreted his calender to read it was Fathers day, in fact Fathers day was to fall on the week ahead and not on the week in-which he felt it was. Dad had read the calender wrong.
In honesty, I both write and speak in confession that I also have been spoken to by false feelings of bitterness as I have traveled down life's tough road, which has lead me unto other feelings such as animosity, strife, envy, and others I wish not to speak of. But when I face these feelings weather they are of depression, loneliness, or one of the many feelings which we face in life I stand only on the foundation of Gods word which is mankind's only light in this world of darkness. The word of God is full of instruction and guidance for whosoever will read and obey it, for it was given unto man by God as he moved upon holy men of old and spoke unto his apostles and prophets to both speak and also to write and also to obey for even the messenger has to obey the message.
Again, I have learned that in life we must not walk by feelings alone, but by and in the Truth of the word of God and we can only walk in the Truth of God as we have been taught the word of God and it is written in KJV Romans 10:14-15,
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach except they be sent? Not all who claim to be a preacher of God has been sent of God. Emotion does not save, only Truth saves. It also is written in KJV Jeremiah 6:16. Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
Feelings will lead us in error if we allow our feelings to govern us.
